In 2025, Breezy Point Resort in the Brainerd Lakes are of north-central Minnesota hired noted golf course architect Andy Staples to create a one-of-one project on the site of their original ‘Traditional’ course. The $8.5 million ‘Ace Valley’ will have 12 playable par-3 holes and a bonus island-green gambling hole. “You can travel the world to play the best and most famous golf templates,” Staples said. “Or you can hit a dozen of them in a single easy trip to Central Minnesota.”
Ace Valley, scheduled to open summer 2027, will be a hybrid of real and artificial turf golf experience that will include 12 lighted par-3 holes inspired by greens from some of the world’s greatest courses across Scotland, Ireland, England and beyond.
An “ego-check” island green with a progressive jackpot will be available for the gambling crowd. A rooftop tee shot that puts a whole new spin on the 5th hole in included. And you will have night golf to keep your fun going well into the night.
Also watch for a 2-story clubhouse with a bar, social dining, golf shop. Ace Valley looks to be a new kind of golf experience.
